About Merkinch

Merkinch is a residential area of Inverness City, one of the city’s oldest areas, originally home to Inverness’s shipbuilding industry and the Kessock Ferry which used to sail across the Moray Firth (and gave Merkinch its nickname - The Ferry). The area also boasts a Local Nature Reserve, the only one in the Highlands.
