HSPC Team at Moonlight Meander
Tell us about the walk –who did it?, where was it, how long was it? Who were you raising money for?
The Moonlight Meander Walk took place at Culbin Forest at Brodie Castle, it was 10 long wet miles and was in aid of The Highland Hospice. HSPC staff Machala and Kelly both
entered the walk. For more details about Highland Hospice log onto www.highlandhospice.org
What were your thoughts when you saw the torrential rain on Saturday as you were about to set out on the moonlight meander?
It was a thought to go out in the rain, but because The Hospice is such worthwhile cause relying solely on donations to enable them to carry on their good work, it didn’t feel such an effort.
Did you struggle at any Point?
We didn’t really struggle, although around the 6 mile mark the weather deteriorated and made walking conditions more difficult, along with fact that it was pitch black for the last couple of miles!
How did you both feel when you finished?
We were delighted to have finished the walk in good time; 2 hours 20 mins.
Do you know where you came in the finishing post?
On completion, you had to go to the Registration Tent to report that we had completed the walk, at this point we were advised that only one other person had finished ahead of us which was good to know after trudging through the rain!
How much did you raise?
We have raised over £600 so far for both charity walks, we would like to thank the generosity of those who sponsored us.
What was the total Raised?
This is still to be confirmed, however it was estimated that the monies raised was in the region of £38,000.00.
Would you do it again?
Yes, we would enter again, in fact we are already registered to participate in a further charity event called The Bra Nicht for which many local charitable organisations will benefit, it takes place on 12th June and for details log onto www.branichtwalk.co.uk and if you want to sponsor HSPC’s team e-mail us on admin@hspc.co.uk!
Well done and good luck for the next long walk!
