About Glenfinnan

Glenfinnan is a village in Lochaber, famous as the site where the 1745 Jacobite rebellion began when Bonnie Prince Charlie landed on the shore of Loch Shiel, raising his standard. An event commemorated by the Glenfinnan Monument.  Fort William is roughly 25 minutes drive (via the A830). The village is also served by a Railways station on the Fort William to Mallaig line.
