About Strontian

Strontian is a village in the western Lochaber area. It lies in a scenic area on the north shore of Loch Sunart close to the head of the loch. The village gave its name to the element ‘Strontium’ which was first discovered from metal mined nearby. Fort William is roughly 1 hour’s drive north (via the A861).
